March has snuck up on us as it does every year, and somehow it’s already time for the third monthly contest from Ariadne’s Crossword Library!

Before we get to the puzzle, I wanted to take a second to shout out all of ACL’s new subscribers who found their way to this site last month. I think many of you got here because of a plug Peter Gordon put in his weekly Fireball email, so a huge thank you to Peter, and welcome to all of you!

And one more note before we get to things: thank you so much to those of you who donated to ACL last month. Your contributions are so helpful to the longevity of this project, and I appreciate enormously the show of support. I got enough contributions that I’ve removed the donation links from the Support ACL page for the time being, but I will almost certainly put out another call in the future, so please stay tuned if you are potentially interested in donating down the road.

Onto the contest! This month’s contest puzzle is “Blood Lines” by Emma Oxford. The meta answer is a novel. I promise soon we will move on to some different meta prompts.

To submit to the contest, send an email with your answer in the subject line to damefoxwords@gmail.com. The contest deadline is 11:59pm Eastern Standard Time on Saturday, March 8. The solution, as well as the name of the randomly chosen winner, will be published on Monday, March 10.
